Overview

Janakpur is one of the most important religious cities in Nepal. Located in the Madhesh Province, near the Indian border, Janakpur is famous as the birthplace of Goddess Sita, the wife of Lord Ram. It is a major pilgrimage destination for Hindus from Nepal and India.
